Round 44 - Monthly Medal - Collier Park (Island/Pines) - Pro-Stroke (Nett)

The Players Club Monthly Medal at Collier Park saw an exhilarating matchplay showdown between Hammo and Lui, with the Island course setting the stage for a nail-biting finish.

Gaz, known for his consistent putting, started strong and quickly went up by three holes early in the match. His impressive performance on the greens had him in a commanding position. However, Lui wasn’t ready to concede. He found his rhythm on the 6th and 7th holes, sinking a remarkable 10-meter putt to claw back two holes.

The drama continued on the par-5 8th hole. Gaz nailed a 6-meter putt for birdie, only to be matched by Lui’s clutch 3-meter birdie putt, keeping the match intensely competitive. The back-and-forth battle persisted, with both players showcasing their skills and determination.

As they approached the final hole, the match was all square. In a thrilling conclusion, Lui managed to secure the win on the last hole, capping off an unforgettable round of golf.

Adding to the day’s excitement, Pete Platters had an unfortunate encounter with a bee after scoring a 10 on the 5th hole. The bee, seemingly upset, stung Pete on the 6th hole, leading to a humorous scene as Pete ran out, calling for help to remove the stinger.

In the overall competition, Jason Dagg emerged victorious with a score of -3, winning on a countback to Lui. Notably, six players finished the day even or better, highlighting the high level of play throughout the event.

The Players Club Monthly Medal at Collier Park once again delivered a day of high drama, exceptional golf, and memorable moments. Congratulations to Jason Dagg on his victory, to Lui for his strong performance, and to all participants for an entertaining round.
