Collier Park - Monthly Medal
No photos as apparently everyone was in a hurry to get home.
This week was round two and the first installment of the Golden Putter and Monthly Medal. Being a week of real golf (stroke) the scores can vary greatly and this week didn’t disappoint in that regard as some people struggled.
One feature of the round was some of the NTP were really close on difficult pin positions which was great to see. Norm was away this week with a knee operation, so Pete thought it would be a good chance to shine. His recovery from some wayward drives was the key to putting together a great round and taking out the win.
Macca was back after about a 9 month layoff and didn’t seem to miss a beat with a great score of 69 which would have been better after some bad luck on the front 9. Playing partner Craig was one over after 10 holes but wasn’t close enough on the greens in the final few holes which lead to 3 putt bogeys and finished also on 69 . An uncharacteristic 3 putt on the last for Macca was his only blemish on the back nine finishing with a 36 off the stick but enough to with the countback.
Basil had some uncharismatic (ed:uncharacteristic?) issues and thought he was well and truly NAGA with a net 87, Stafford was thinking the same with a net 83 . However, Robin also struggled and in a count forward, picked up his first NAGA of the year. If the past is anything to go by, that will be offset with a 48 stableford points round anytime soon .
