Collier - Par
This week was back to the love it or hate it ‘Par’ competition.
There were also 3 x Matchplays, Robin v Lui, the real Craig v Rob and the rematch between Scott and Jamie. All matches’s had the same result, 3/2, unfortunately Robin, Craig and Scott were on the wrong side of those results.
Rob skipped out to a 3 up lead on Craig after paring the first 3 holes and managed to hold it all together, with odd piece of bad luck as 4 putts stopped on the lip
There was not much Craig could do, even going just 2 over during a10 hole stretch he still gained no ground. Rob was unfazed and played great under pressure.
The Scott and Jamie game was also entertaining as Scott went to an early lead and held to one up at the half way point. Then Jamie played to his full potential in one of the best 9s for the year, which included 3 birdies, one double and 5 Pars for a one under the card 34. This equated to the 3/2 win.
Robin and Lui was another close one with Lui hovering around the 2 up area for most of the game. After some great scores Robin’s handicap has come down significantly, which is all the ever consistent Lui needed also going to 3/2 win.
After a few weeks Leigh was back and was playing really well. In particular around and on the greens, he sank many great long putts when he needed to, and did some of his usual long drives. Well done Leigh on great score. Trevor was not far behind Leigh on the scoring front and was great to see him amongst the winners again with Rob taking 3rd place.
It was also good to see Sam back for a game, and in his usual manner his first drive went a lazy 300 meters down the middle to take out the Long Drive.
Strangely there were about 10 players that finished square with their handicap, good luck on working through the count back on that lot.
