Collier - Stroke
This week was the second stroke and golden putter round for the year. Thanks to Pete for arranging the cards early on and placing in a template to record the score, stableford Points and putts in a consistent manner. Much to the delight of the captain and handicapper after so many variations in the past.
As usual with ‘real golf’ there is blowouts which most people experience, however Pete was sure he was going to be NAGA after a 9, 8 and 7 in quick succession making the turn on 63. On the back nine though, he pulled it all together producing 23 points to be out of the equation.
Dave Ovel was very consistent after a shaky start and in particular his back 9 was sensational with nothing but 4’s most of the way. It could have been anything after an eagle (see below) and birdie lipped out finishing the back nine with a 38.
The golf gods however were not smiling on Craig, as on the same hole he would have required a chain saw to get a club on this ball.
Laurie and Lui though were the run away leaders with great consistency all round and never really found any trouble. The year is already shaping up as another good year for Lawrie with no hangover in sight from last years wonderful efforts.
